STRANGE GOING'S ON AT CHRISMAS LODGE
Must stress that at this time these are rumours, but they been reported so many times from so many people, for these not to have some possible basis.
Rumors are allegedly circulating that Christmas Lodge will be sold off by Hampshire County Council possibly without putting it out to tender (it's now up for sale but .....), and it has also been heard that a possible family member of an Aldershot Councillor has bragged that his family and friends will soon own this property, along with a local Hampshire County Councillor. This is a worry as if this is the case this purchase would be covered by insider trading laws and we are sure that the Fraud Squad will be interested if this rumor comes to fruition. Keep a close eye on this avenue of the Chrismas Lodge development and report any further progress with this matter.
HCC press release - for Chrismas Lodge
HCC detail sale documents
It has also been mentioned locally that 91 Jubilee Road will allegedly become part of the access to the proposed Chrismas Lodge development. Access to Chrismas Lodge is narrow and is specifically mentioned in the HCC documents for the sale, leading one to believe that improovements to the access will be required which could include land from #91. There are also outstanding issues with Park land used by #91 from Rushmoor Borough Council, the continued use of which was enabled by an HCC Councillor.
Continued use of land - that was actually a Garage with access into Chrismas Lodge.
Breach of planning notice - for the "Garage" (photo below).
Planning agreed after meeting - enabled by the councilor mentioned in paragraph one above.

It must be stressed that at this time these are rumours, but they been reported so many times from so many people, for these not to have some possible basis.
Very old title deed documents exist that show acces from Evelyn Avenue into the park with right to drive animals and livestock, they include a map with the access coloured and marked "A - B", which just happens to be the park land occupied by #91 Jubilee Road. Another title deed for the transfer of the Chrismas Lodge land from RBC to HCC does not correctly define the northern boundary, will there be a claim from the developer to include the footpath along that boundary?.
A Freedom of Information Request on HCC for documents relating to the current sale of Chrismas Lodge, once it has been decided, might yield someting to clear this matter up, but probably only after the horse has bolted ! - any takers - the more the merrier !, it will let HCC know there are more than just those at the Best-Report beavering away, and that they cannot just brush this under the carpet.
